From left to right 1) A golf course where even a diminutive weed is removed by hand, 2) over sized shrimps, 3) A clever way of painting a round object using a painters clove, 4) A uniquely located Golf course with a light house overlooking the Pacific Ocean, 5) A hedge which provides plenty of privacy.

From the left to right 1)Not a good day for swimming, 3) This restaurant (a good one) Has been devastated twice by a Tsunami. The two lines on the window indicate the level of water at the time of the storms, 4) A beautiful place on KAUAI, the film "SOUTH PACIFIC" was filmed there, 5) one of several blow holes on POIPU Beach on KAUAI.


From left to right 1) End of the road, past Princeville on the Island of KAUAI, 2) The most southerly part of the USA - guess where! 3) An open air fish market in HILO, on the big Island of Hawaii, 4) A lighthouse on a bird sanctuary on KAUAI, 5) A topographical map of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa showing the lava flows.


From the left to the right 1)& 2), the famous WAIPIO Lookout off the # 19 Highway between Hilo and Waimea on the Big Island, 3) The famous Malasadas (like our Donuts) only better tasting, 4) One of the establishments which specialize in this local specialty, 5) This IS A TRIPPLE DECKER plus.


From the left to the right 1) These are the creations of small animals e.g. ants (However they are not called ants (I forgot the name of these creatures, 2)& 3) These windmills were at one time installed to augment the electric power supply for the Southern part of the Big Island. The worked fine until for reasons unknown to me, they were no longer in use. Some were dismantled, others are just rusting away. 4) This is the size of automobile which is hard to park:), 5) These are the monitoring devices at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The name of the famous active volcano is "KILAUEA".


All four pictures - This lava which is ralatively very young. Verna's DRIVE IN and a small settlement of locals at Kalapana was only a few yards away from the ocean. Next Year, I could not believe my eyes. Approx. 100 acres of new land had been created by new lava flows. A short time later about 40 acres of this new lava broke off and went into the ocean.
